APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE OPEN! CLICK HERE FOR THE ACADEMIC WORKS STUDENT USER GUIDE

Welcome to the LSUS scholarship management site, Academic Works! The scholarships listed are offered by the LSUS Foundation in an effort to “connect student dreams with donor passions.” Below you will find information to help you navigate this site and answer some basic questions you may encounter. If you have a question not answered below, please email the Office of Scholarships at scholarships@lsus.edu.

To begin your scholarship application process, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in using your LSUS email. Ensure accuracy in the spelling of your user email account and ensure the account is checked frequently. If this is your first time logging into the system, click on Sign Up and follow the instructions.
  2. Complete your General Application (a series of preliminary questions to outline your accomplishments).
  3. Your application may be Submitted; however, you must check the “Status” bar on your “My Applications” dashboard to ensure that all required references are “Submitted”. If the Status bar shows your reference has not been submitted, then your file is incomplete.
  4. Review additional scholarship opportunities when you hover your mouse cursor over the “Opportunities” tab.
If you are a newly admitted student to LSUS and do not have an LSUS email address, enter the email address used when you applied for admission. Once your LSUS email address has been issued, this will be used for login.
*YOU MUST BE ADMITTED TO LSUS TO LOGIN AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS.
You can apply for admissions at LSUS ADMISSIONS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Scholarships are NOT guaranteed, they are a gift. Students/families must have a financial plan to pay for college.

Most of our scholarship opportunities you do not have to apply to, but will be automatically matched after you complete and submit your General Application (and Conditional Application if there is one). The system uses the information in your Applicant Record to match your application to different opportunities in which you qualify. You can review the information in your Applicant record by reviewing your General Application and clicking the Applicant Record button in the bottom left corner. Please keep in mind that qualifying for any scholarship does not guarantee you will receive the scholarship.

The General Application you completed will be kept until August of each year. You must complete a new General Application at the beginning of every Fall semester to be considered for the upcoming year.

Scholarships with the word “Apply” in the Action column (after you sign in) require further action on your part in order to be considered. Click “Apply” to complete the application process. Please read the scholarship eligibility requirements carefully to make sure you meet the eligibility requirements (e.g. major, GPA, enrollment requirements) before applying.

If you are asked to upload a resume, letter of support, or any other supporting documentation, the system will not allow for punctuation (commas, apostrophes, and periods) to be used in the file name (example: John.Doe, Resume-2019). Using punctuation will cause an error in trying to upload any of these supporting documents. Rename any file that includes punctuation and click “Save and Keep Editing” after you select the file you wish to upload. Clicking “Finish and Submit” will submit your completed application for consideration.

The scholarship amount awarded may vary from the advertised amount. Payout of all awards is subject to availability of funds.

Information provided may be reviewed by scholarship selection committees, faculty, development, donors, scholarship, and financial aid office as well as other areas at LSUS. Once a scholarship application and/or recommendations are submitted, the information will be retained by LSUS and will not be shared external to the University. Any letters of recommendation in AcademicWorks will not be provided to the student directly.
